The Compilar Model

In Egalitarian coordination, five core pillars shape how groups behave: Indirect Reciprocity, Popularity, Diverse Expression, Outgoing Respect, and Group Prospects. Each pillar is driven by psychological forces that shape team dynamics and performance.

How the Egalitarian Pillars Connect

The five ECP pillars model egalitarian collaboration. Diverse Expression (psychological safety), Indirect Reciprocity (unconditional help), Popularity (informal influence), Group Prospects (collective goals), and Outgoing Respect (trust in others).

Indirect Reciprocity

Your willingness to participate in a norm where assistance is rendered without expectation of repayment. Provision of unconditional assistance to others, or acceptance of unconditional assistance from them.

Popularity

The extent to which you believe other group members like you. Do they have positive regard for and generally enjoy your company?

Diverse Expression

The extent to which your ideas challenging Group Think will be listened to, if not necessarily enacted. Your contribution will involve some change to the status quo, and its rules and expectations.

Outgoing Respect

The extent to which you believe other group members are competent and trustworthy. Do they have the skills needed for their roles, and can they be relied on to carry them out?

Group Prospects

The extent to which you believe the group will achieve its planned goals (as opposed to your personal objectives, or fortunate gains).
